"The Environment and me"
The United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) has recently informed that human activity has changed Earth’s natural environment and that over the last a hundred years our activities have been changing Earth’s climate too. In fact, today, the evidence that our environment is changing is not just a simple prediction based on computer models, it is a reality. Moreover, our unconscious decisions seeking to improve the standards of living have resulted in the extraction and exploitation of Earth’s natural resources, and we are convinced that our actions won’t harm our only home, Earth.
The reality is that must of us believe the simple things that we do at home don’t contribute to this problem and think that corporations are the only ones harming our environment. But in fact, we all live in the same planet and consume what corporations produce and sell in the market, so this is a problem that belongs to all of us and certainly, we can do something to help save our planet.
How many times have you think that what you do might have an effect on others? For example, every time I take a shower, I expect the water to be hot, but I don’t really think that by taking a shower every day contributes to the problem. I am not suggesting that we should not shower at all. But what I am pointing out is the following: every day when I take a shower, I am allowing oil companies to extract and transport oil which results in environmental pollution. Moreover, every time I stop at the grocery store and buy a bottle of water, I am not only allowing companies to continue extracting Earth’s natural resources, but by putting my empty bottle in my trash can without recycling I am contributing to the problem too.
Today, the understanding that my actions contribute to the changes in our environment has enhanced, and I believe that all of us can do some thing about it. Because we not only have to save our planet but we have to make sure that our children inherit a better world. So I am educating myself about it, so I can educate others.

You have a very interesting post. I never looked at the bigger picture. It never dawned on me, everytime I buy a soda or a bottle of water from the store, the affects it has on the enviornment. After reading your passage I see things differently.which means for me, I will more aware of what it takes to change my habits. The light you shed on certain issues are very interesting and it gives me something to think about. From this moment on, I will be more aoncious of the things I do taht has an affect on the enviornment.
I mean its not enough to just know these things you have to do something you have to let polititions and big companies know that this is important to the majority of us or else this won't change. poland spring started using bottles i think 30% smaller to lessen the plastic needed to be recycled cause they realize people are looking for a change. Its good to realixe the things you have but unless you take action it doesn't matter it might acutually make you go crazy becasue nothings being done and at that point ignorance is bliss and we can go back to watching celebs ruin their lives.
