So we are reaching the end of the semester and while some of us are struggling with research papers and final exams, the time to make compromises has come. I cannot tell you how many times I have promised myself to change certain things in my life, to be honest with you most of the time I have kept my promises and other times… Well let’s not go there. The reality is that our current environmental crisis requires drastic changes in our lives, because we cannot continue with business as usual. After reading the Green Book, I have realized how easily we can all make a different in reducing global warming, but most importantly, protecting our environment if we want to. In short, these are the things I am promising to change:
1. I will buy a laptop
2. I will buy a 32 inch LCD.
3. I will recycle
4. I will take short showers
5. I will turn off the tap while I brush my teeth.
The only reason for why I have arranged my list in this way is very simple, since I really have to buy a TV and Laptop very soon, this will be the perfect opportunity for me to start buying eco-friendly products, on the other hand, the last three items are things that I can start doing right away for sure, however, I believe they are the hardest because it requires me to change my daily routings.
I am publicly committing my self to take short shower from now on.

turning off the water while brushing is not as easy as it seems I have been running the water for years and I've tried changing that habit several times and I find myself going backwards after a few brushes especially when i am in a rush. recycling is a good committment I am working on that one. taking shorter showers may work but what about turning the water off while you soap up as well that could help too. buying a laptop helps for the trees but how does that work for the electricity? great intentions good luck with that... I say this to myself as well... Remember to unplug the converters and chargers when not in use......... that will complete your project
thanks for the commitment and good lck with the short showers!
The thing about the habits is to do it for a month, because it has been proven that if you do a habit for 30 days it it becomes apart of the routine...so make it 30 days and you probably made it.
well good luck with the short showers.. i dont think i can do that but if you can...that will be great.
Yeah, its great that it gives us a chance to change what we want in our lives, but it not easy, I know that everything does not come easy. I also think that if we all try to do a little bit, like you said changing some stuff that we are used to, it will make a great different.
